Patrolman Daniel E. Davis, aged 48, of the Columbus Division of Police, Ohio, tragically lost his life on June 7, 1905. He was shot and killed while responding to a burglary in progress at 1117 East Broad Street in Columbus. The suspect involved in the burglary was apprehended and subsequently executed in the electric chair. Patrolman Davis had served with the Columbus Division of Police for nine years and was survived by his wife and son.
