On June 8, 1980, 14-year-old Darrell Lane, an African American teenager from Cincinnati, OH, was tragically shot and killed while walking with his cousin, 13-year-old Dante Evans Brown, to a store to buy candy. The boys were ambushed by Joseph Paul Franklin, a racist serial killer who was on a shooting spree across multiple states.
