On February 22, 2013, 20-year-old Male Lawrence Collins was fatally shot outside the Minnie and Lovie Ward Recreation Center on Capitol Avenue in San Francisco's Oceanview neighborhood. Collins, a youth advocate and graduate of the Inner City Youth program, was found with a gunshot wound to the head and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
