On January 19, 2014, 15-year-old Deandre L. Choice, a Black male from Dayton, Ohio, was tragically shot and killed. His body was discovered in an alley later that day, having been shot three times. The Dayton police determined that his death was not a random act of violence, but rather, it appeared that Choice knew the suspect or suspects involved.
In the days leading up to his death, Choice was last seen at DJ's Party House on Hoover Avenue in Dayton on the night of January 17, 2014.
He posted a photo on Facebook the next morning, showing himself holding a large sum of cash, which raised suspicions. On the morning of January 19, Trotwood Police were contacted regarding a possible abduction of Choice, but it was later determined that he was last seen in Dayton.
Despite extensive investigations by both Dayton and Trotwood detectives, no arrests have been made in connection with Choice's death. The case remains unsolved, and the authorities continue to seek information from the public to bring justice for Deandre L. Choice.
It's a heartbreaking story, and the community continues to remember him as a good kid and helpful neighbor.
