Dayton police described the incident as an attempted murder-suicide. SWAT officers surrounded the home for over two hours before entering and discovering the bodies of Dustin and Jasmine Leonard. Dustin Leonard was pronounced dead at the scene, while Jasmine Leonard was initially listed in critical condition but later transferred to hospice care due to the severity of her injuries.
The case did not result in any arrests or ongoing litigation, as Dustin Leonard died at the scene.
