Adrian Ruíz Ortiguera, a 19-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically died on February 4, 2015, in Hilliard, Ohio. According to reports, Adrian took his own life inside his vehicle at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park. The incident prompted a brief lockdown of nearby schools as a precautionary measure. Hilliard police received a report of a suspicious person with a gun, which led them to the scene where they discovered Adrian had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
There were no arrests, suspects, litigations, or murder investigations related to Adrian's death, as it was determined to be a suicide. The Franklin County Coroner's Office confirmed the cause of death, and the lockdown was lifted shortly after the situation was resolved.
