Leroy Brewster, a 45-year-old African American man, was found shot to death on May 15, 2015, in Springfield Township, Ohio. His body was discovered in the bushes behind Burney View Apartments. The cause of death was determined to be a single gunshot wound.
Following Brewster's death, multiple arrests were made in connection to the murder. Rodney Hayes, 23, pleaded guilty to complicity in the slaying and was sentenced to five years in prison.
Two other individuals, Maceo Feltha, 19, and Ceejay Larkins, 21, were charged with complicity and murder, respectively. Feltha was held on a one million dollar bond, while Larkins awaited trial. Additionally, Shaundelle Graham, 26, was arrested and faced charges of murder, felonious assault, kidnapping, and a gun charge.
The investigation revealed that two black men, one wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and the other a grey hooded sweatshirt, were seen in the area around the time of the shooting. The case drew significant attention from local law enforcement and the community, as efforts were made to bring those responsible for Brewster's death to justice.
