Diondre Callionn Pacak, an 18-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on August 26, 2015, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was shot twice in the back in the Avondale neighborhood and was found in the ballfield behind Hirsch Recreation Center. His death marked the 51st homicide in Cincinnati that year.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, and police believe that Pacak and a 23-year-old man were targeted in an attempted robbery.
Four teenagers were eventually arrested and charged with Pacak's murder. Rasoan Dunbar, 18, was apprehended by homicide detectives with the help of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit. Additionally, Charles Fann, 17, Amir Evans, 16, and Desean Ward, 17, were also charged with murder and aggravated robbery.
The community was deeply affected by Pacak's death, and candlelight vigils were held in his honor both in Cincinnati and his hometown of Lebanon, Ohio. Pacak was remembered as a free spirit who loved music and basketball. His family and friends continue to mourn his loss and seek justice for his untimely death.
