Jerry Robinson, a 57-year-old man from Northfield, OH, tragically passed away on September 4, 2016. He was involved in a fatal incident that was later determined to be a murder-suicide. Robinson was shot multiple times in the abdomen outside his truck in the 9600 block of East Idlewood Drive in Twinsburg. He was quickly transported to Cleveland Clinic, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The suspected shooter was identified as Robert Waltzer, a 58-year-old resident of Twinsburg. According to police reports, Waltzer shot Robinson before retreating into his home. When SWAT teams attempted to negotiate with Waltzer, he refused to respond. After deploying gas into the home, SWAT officers found Waltzer dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. A 9mm gun was found nearby.
The investigation revealed that a love triangle might have been the motive behind the tragic incident. Police questioned Tracey Wilson, a 41-year-old woman from Northfield Village, who claimed that both Waltzer and Robinson were fighting over her. Officers confiscated Wilson's cell phone to examine her communications with both men.
This heartbreaking event left the community in shock and sorrow, as Robinson was remembered fondly by friends and family. The investigation concluded that the incident was a result of personal conflicts exacerbated by romantic entanglements.
