Alvin "Al" Adams, a 56-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2016, at the Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green, OH. He was a jail sergeant for the Wood County Sheriff's Office and had served in this role for 15 years. Adams was also a member of the Gunslingers Motorcycle Club's Black Swamp Chapter and the Fraternal Order of Police .
In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his grandchildren.
Adams' death was determined to be an accidental shooting. He was off-duty at the time and accidentally discharged a shotgun he owned outside his home in Grand Rapids, OH. After realizing what had happened, he shouted to his girlfriend to call 911, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Wood County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted an investigation into the incident, but no arrests or suspects were identified as it was deemed an accident.
