Tami L. Ramage, a 49-year-old woman from Rogers, Ohio, tragically died on January 29, 2017. Born on February 25, 1967, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Roberta “Bobbie” Ramage and the late Paul Richard “Rich” Ramage II. Tami was a graduate of United Local High School and worked as a State Tested Nurses Aide. She was known for her caring nature and love for animals, family, and friends.
The incident leading to her death was a tragic murder-suicide.
On the night of January 28, 2017, James V. Rhodes, 44, arrived at Tami's home on Dyke Road looking for his ex-girlfriend, who was Tami's daughter. Rhodes was allowed into the home by Tami, who was sitting at the kitchen table with Daniel Moffett, a friend. When Rhodes was told that his ex-girlfriend was not present, he went into a back room to do some drugs. Tami decided she did not want him there and asked one of the men to tell Rhodes to leave. Rhodes then shot Moffett twice before turning the gun on Tami, shooting her once before she could run back into a bedroom, where he shot her three more times. After the shooting, Rhodes drove to Union Ridge Road, where he shot himself.
The investigation revealed that Rhodes had broken off his relationship with Tami's daughter a couple of weeks prior to the incident. The tragic event left the community in shock and sorrow, as Tami was remembered fondly by her family and friends.
