On March 24, 2012, a fifteen-year-old Black male named Romel Smith lost his life following a violent incident in Detroit, Michigan. The teenager was in the northwest section of the city late that Saturday night when the shooting occurred. He was specifically located on Monte Vista Street, situated just south of West McNichols Road, an area also known as Six Mile, near Meyers Road.
After sustaining gunshot wounds, Romel was transported to Sinai-Grace Hospital for emergency medical treatmen
