Anthony Harris, a 36-year-old man from Cincinnati, OH, was fatally shot on January 24, 2018, at a gas station in the Bond Hill neighborhood. Harris was sitting in his car when he was shot in the face by an unknown assailant at around 3:40 a.m. The incident was described as a completely random act of violence, as Harris was not involved in any high-risk activities and was simply going about his routine.
Following the shooting, Cincinnati police launched an investigation and identified
multiple suspects. On February 8, 2018, Robert Earl Neal, a 21-year-old man, was arrested and charged with Harris's murder. Neal was found to be one of the four suspects sought by the police in connection with the crime. Harris's family remembered him as a loving father and a dedicated employee who worked at Frisch's Big Boy for 18 years.
In January 2021, Robert Neal was found guilty of murder, felonious assault, and a gun charge. The court convicted Neal for shooting Harris while he was sitting in his car at the gas station on Paddock Road. The judge described Harris as an innocent victim who did not deserve to be targeted. Neal received a guilty verdict and was sentenced accordingly.
The case highlighted the tragic loss of a family man who was simply going about his daily routine when he was senselessly killed. Harris's family and friends continue to remember him fondly and seek justice for his untimely death.
