Brittany D. McDowell, a 28-year-old woman from Columbus, Ohio, was found dead on July 4, 2019, in Alum Creek State Park near Lewis Center, Ohio. Her body was discovered in a shallow grave by an officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into her death, suspecting it to be a homicide due to the injuries found on her body. The Delaware County Coroner's Office was tasked with determining the exact cause of death.
