Philip Tamar Howard, a 37-year-old male from Piqua, Ohio, tragically lost his life on February 8, 2020. He was shot and killed in the 1300 block of Fairfax Avenue. Howard was not a resident of the apartment building where the incident occurred, but he was known to the other residents. The death was ruled a homicide, but no charges have been filed, and the incident remains under investigation.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a call from someone inside the apartment.
According to Deputy Chief Marty Grove, officers found Howard deceased from a gunshot wound. Witnesses were interviewed, and one allegedly admitted to shooting Howard. However, no arrests have been made, and all individuals involved have been cooperative with the ongoing investigation.
The case has been forwarded to the Miami County Prosecutor's Office for review. The investigation continues as authorities work to gather more evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding Howard's death.
