Melvin Dobson Jr., a 38-year-old African American male from Cleveland, OH, was shot and killed on April 4, 2020. According to witnesses, Dobson was shot after a fight broke out between him and another male at Arbor Park Apartments on Dillard. The incident occurred in the evening, and Dobson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following Dobson's death, an investigation was launched, and Darnelle Hurt was charged with multiple offenses related to the incident. Hurt was indicted on charges of ...
