In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Detroit, Michigan, tragedy befell a young family. Jalon Canty, an 18-year-old African American male, was found shot to death inside a friend's home on Anglin Street on the city's east side on September 5, 2012. His death came just one day before he would have celebrated his 19th birthday.
