Mohamed Ndiaye, a 42-year-old man of Mauritanian descent, was tragically shot and killed on May 10, 2020, in Lockland, Cincinnati, OH. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when Lockland police responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of South Wayne Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Ndiaye dead from gunshot wounds outside a house.
The investigation revealed that Ndiaye's death was the result of a botched robbery orchestrated by Donna Sparks, a prostitute who was a paid
acquaintance of the victim. Sparks admitted to knowing that Ndiaye was going to be robbed and was present at the residence just before the offense took place. She also sent a text message indicating that Ndiaye had a firearm. Sparks was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, one count of felony assault, and one count of aggravated robbery.
George Davis, 32, was also implicated in the crime. Initially arrested on charges of promoting prostitution, Davis was later charged with murder after it was determined that he fatally shot Ndiaye and Ndiaye's dog. Both Sparks and Davis were indicted and have been in custody since May 14, 2020. Sparks pleaded guilty to manslaughter and armed robbery charges and was sentenced to six years in prison. Davis opted for a bench trial and was found guilty of felony murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery, and a weapons charge. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

His aunt, speaking through an interpreter, expressed her grief and questioned the motive behind the killing. Despite the sorrow, Ndiaye's uncle advised Davis to "try to do good every day you wake up," showing a remarkable level of compassion and forgiveness.
