On July 6, 2020, Tommie James III, a 23-year-old African American man from Cleveland, OH, was tragically shot and killed at a gas station in Cleveland's Forest Hills neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11:55 p.m. when an unknown shooter fired shots from across the street, hitting James and another man in the parking lot of USA Gas Station on St. Clair Avenue. James was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
