In the fading daylight of a Saturday afternoon, on November 28, 2020, the life of 20-year-old Kani Oliver was tragically cut short in a brazen shooting on Detroit's west side. Oliver, a young man remembered by his mother for his immense heart and belief in the good of people, was fatally wounded around 3:45 p.m. on Log Cabin Street, near Brighton Street.
