In the autumn of 2012, the life of a young man from Marine City was tragically cut short in Detroit. Dillon Ray Decoster, a 26-year-old male, was working as a security guard at the Great Lakes Dialysis Center on October 31, 2012, when he was fatally shot during an attempted armed robbery. The assailants, believed to be three men, were reportedly after a smartphone. In a senseless act of violence, they took Dillon's life, leaving empty-handed.
