On May 21, 2021, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Joseph Lewis, a 36-year-old male from Cleveland, Ohio, was involved in a fatal incident in the city's Edgewater neighborhood. According to reports, Joseph Lewis and a 42-year-old male companion were near West 88th Street and Detroit Avenue when they were approached by an unidentified individual who attempted to rob them at gunpoint.
