Kamar Michael Williams, a 19-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on July 5, 2021, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was fatally shot during a robbery by Antwan Coach, Jr., 22, and Markel Hardy, 23, both of Cincinnati. The two suspects allegedly robbed Williams of marijuana and a firearm before shooting him to death.
The investigation into Williams' death revealed a larger criminal conspiracy involving Jamal Binford, 33, of Dallas and Cincinnati.
Binford, who presented himself as a boxing manager, was found guilty of directing Coach and Hardy to commit the murder. Binford also conspired with the two men to kill another victim, Deonte Nuckols, in August 2021, as part of a narcotics conspiracy involving significant quantities of fentanyl and cocaine.
In February 2023, Binford was arrested at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and later convicted on multiple federal charges, including murder in connection with the drug trafficking conspiracy and use of a firearm to commit murder. Coach and Hardy pleaded guilty to their roles in the crimes and are awaiting sentencing. The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio, with assistance from the ATF and local police departments.
