Grace Elizabeth "Gracie" Elliott, a 10-year-old girl from Camden, Ohio, tragically lost her life on January 24, 2022. She was found dead along with her 13-year-old brother, Caleb Elliott, and their father, Shane Elliott, in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. The family lived in Preble County, and the incident occurred at their home on Greenbush Road in Gratis Township.

The investigation revealed that Shane Elliott, the children's father, was responsible for the deaths. Shane had a history of domestic violence, and his estranged wife, Kellie Elliot, had previously reported incidents of abuse. Kellie had been advocating for changes in the court system to better protect victims of domestic violence. Shane Elliott was also charged with domestic violence in 2015 following an incident where Kellie feared for her life.

The tragic loss of Caleb and Grace has had a profound impact on their family and the community. Kellie Elliot has since become an advocate for domestic violence awareness and prevention, sharing her story to help others and prevent similar tragedies. The Ohio Domestic Violence Network has also highlighted the need for systemic changes to better protect victims and prevent such fatalities.

Grace was remembered as a vibrant and loving girl who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved beauty and sparkly things, enjoyed painting, and had a special talent for glitter art. She was also a bible-driven girl who loved to sing at church. Her favorite activities included cooking with her mom and having silly dance parties with her cousins.

The community mourned the loss of Grace and Caleb, and their memory lives on through the love and support of their family and friends. The tragedy has sparked conversations about the importance of addressing domestic violence and providing better support for victims and their families.
