Ka’Vyne Pancake Cooper, a 22-year-old Black male from Columbus, OH, tragically lost his life on January 30, 2022. He was affectionately known as "Pancake" or "Cakemoney" and was remembered as a loving, caring, and goofy young man who brought joy to those around him. On the night of his death, officers were dispatched to the 2600 Block of Divot Pl. in Columbus at approximately 2:55 AM following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Ka’Vyne suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite receiving lifesaving medical treatment and being transported to Grant Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:24 AM.
The incident remains an unsolved homicide, with the Columbus Police Department continuing to investigate. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
