Lawrence Morgan, a 17-year-old male of unspecified ethnicity from Parma, Ohio, tragically died on June 21, 2022. Morgan was fatally shot on the 5700 block of South Park Boulevard in Parma. He was in a car with acquaintances before getting out of the vehicle, which led to the shooting. He was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland but succumbed to his injuries.
The incident was not random; the suspect, a 16-year-old male, knew Lawrence Morgan. The suspect was arrested the following day after a search warrant was executed at his home on the 3100 block of Liggett Drive. The suspect has been charged with murder, felonious assault, and improper discharge of a firearm over a roadway. Multiple bullet casings were recovered from the scene, and several people were seen running away after the shooting.
The case is currently being handled in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, and the suspect is facing the charges there. Detectives have not indicated if they are searching for any additional suspects at this time. The community has been deeply affected by this tragedy, and friends and family have expressed their grief and disbelief over the loss of Lawrence Morgan.
