Mislande Azar, a 32-year-old woman of Haitian ethnicity, tragically lost her life on July 11, 2022, in a workplace murder-suicide at the SK Food Group warehouse in Groveport, Ohio. The incident occurred early Monday morning when Delinx Agenord, a 27-year-old man also born in Haiti, approached Mislande in the locker room area of the warehouse and shot her multiple times. Mislande was immediately transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries later that day.
Following the shooting, Agenord fled the scene and attempted to take his own life by running into the middle of the street and climbing a utility pole. He ultimately died after coming into contact with the power lines. Law enforcement officers determined that both Agenord and Mislande were unlawfully in the United States and had provided fraudulent names to their employer. The Groveport Police Department confirmed that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute, although it remains unclear if Agenord was the father of Mislande's three children, who reside in the Dominican Republic with family.
