Derrick Eldon Wilkes, a 62-year-old man from Akron, Ohio, tragically passed away on September 25, 2022, after being shot inside his apartment on Copley Road. The incident occurred around 12:50 p.m., and despite being rushed to Cleveland Clinic Akron General, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the torso, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
