Michael Nigrin, a 53-year-old man from Cortland, OH, was found shot to death in the backyard of his North Park Avenue home in Bazetta on November 16, 2022. His death was ruled a homicide by the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office on February 23, 2023. The investigation into his death is ongoing, and police have been following up on various leads, but no arrests have been made. The community has been asked to assist with any information that might help solve the case.
