In the early hours of a Father's Day weekend in Detroit, Michigan, the life of Eric Spires, a 55-year-old single father, was tragically cut short. On June 15, 2013, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Spires was discovered in a vacant field in the 4900 block of 35th Street. He had been fatally shot.
