Dennis Wilbert Allen, a 24-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was a patrolman with the Four Oaks Police Department in North Carolina. On June 3, 1977, he was shot and killed while performing his duties. Patrolman Allen had stopped a suspicious vehicle on a service road approaching I-95. Unbeknownst to him, the driver of the vehicle had just committed a robbery and murdered another man minutes earlier.
