The discovery sent shockwaves through their community. Both mother and son had been brutally stabbed to death multiple times.
Frances was remembered as a caring individual, and her son Jason, a paraplegic who was confined to a wheelchair, was known for his creative spirit, with a
passion for writing rap music and poetry. The nature of the crime was particularly disturbing to family members and investigators. There were no signs of a forced entry into their residence, which led relatives to believe that Frances and Jason had likely known their attacker and willingly let them into their home.
In the wake of the double homicide, Detroit police launched an investigation into the heinous act. Family members, devastated by their loss, made public pleas for any information that could lead to the killer.
