In the warm summer night of August 11, 2017, a gathering of friends around a bonfire in a Detroit park turned into a scene of terror and tragedy. Among those enjoying the evening was 25-year-old Andrea Gardner. Shortly after midnight, the peaceful atmosphere was shattered by the eruption of gunfire in what witnesses would later describe as an ambush.
