Alycia Nichelle McKinnon, a 22-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on March 12, 2005, in Jackson Hamlet, North Carolina. The circumstances surrounding her death were deeply distressing. Alycia was shot and killed in what appeared to be a targeted attack. The incident took place at a residence near Pinehurst, where Alycia was present along with her half-sister, Andrea Balser. Andrea was also shot during the attack and was critically injured.
