On the first of August in 2013, a harrowing chain of events culminated in the death of 30-year-old Eric Ramsey, an African-American male, following a violent crime spree and a final, fatal encounter with police. The tragic day began with the armed kidnapping of a female student from Central Michigan University. Ramsey commandeered her vehicle and took her to his home, where he bound and sexually assaulted her.
