On August 1, 2013, Eric Ramsey, aged 34, was involved in a violent incident in Detroit that led to his death. Ramsey had a history of criminal behavior and was reportedly involved in a series of violent acts leading up to the incident. The sequence began when Ramsey kidnapped a Central Michigan University student, forcing her into her vehicle at gunpoint.
