Sharlene Freeman, a 46-year-old woman from Edenton, NC, was tragically killed on June 18, 2007. Sharlene, who was playing bingo at the American Legion Hall, was shot multiple times as she walked to her vehicle around 10 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing her estranged husband, James Earl Freeman, waiting in the parking lot in his 1992 white Plymouth Voyager.
