Benjamin Shelvin Jr., a 28-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 11, 2013, in Sanford, North Carolina. Benjamin, affectionately known as "Bump," was a resident of Spring Lake, NC. He was shot on Dudley Avenue in Sanford and later succumbed to his injuries at Central Carolina Hospital. The incident left his family and community in deep mourning.
