Richard Leroy "Dick" Trickle, a well-known short-track race car driver, died on May 16, 2013, at the age of 71 in Boger City, Lincoln County, North Carolina. Trickle was born on October 27, 1941, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He was a respected figure in the racing community, having won over 1,200 feature races across various racing series, including ASA, ARTGO, ARCA, All Pro, IMCA, NASCAR, and USAC.
