Romon Antonio Williams, a 29-year-old African American male, was found shot to death on February 18, 2014, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred at an apartment complex on Barrington Drive in northeast Charlotte. Officers responded to a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon and discovered Williams suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

More than four years after the murder, on August 21, 2018, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested 25-year-old Aric Demond Adams in connection with the case. Adams was charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Detectives identified Adams as the suspect based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation. The CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested Adams without incident.
