Dwayne Larry Sawyer, a 27-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on March 25, 2014, in Linden, North Carolina. The incident occurred late at night when someone opened fire through the front door of a home on Durant Nixon Road. Sawyer was inside the house at the time and was struck by the gunfire.
