Linda McDowell Simpson, a 79-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on April 11, 2014, in Porters Neck, North Carolina. The incident was part of a murder-suicide that took place in the Plantation Village community. Linda was married to Darrell Simpson, who fatally shot her, his nephew Steven Heald, and then himself. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Linda and Steven were both shot twice.
