James Hunt, an 81-year-old man from Lumberton, NC, was tragically killed on January 1, 2015. The incident occurred at his home on Gardenia Drive, where he was found dead by a neighbor at around 11:40 a.m. Timothy Ray Ivey, a 23-year-old man from Fairmont, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Hunt's death. Ivey was also charged with stealing Hunt's firearm during the altercation. The motive for the murder remains unclear.
