On a late March night in 2014, the life of 34-year-old Khaili Fadhel was tragically cut short at his home on Talbot Street on Detroit's east side. A native of Yemen who had come to the United States at the age of 16, Fadhel was a co-owner of a local business, K Y Phones, in the nearby city of Hamtramck. He was a father to a young daughter, Malak, who was three years old at the time, and a nine-month-old son named Omar.
