Travis Elijah Freeman, a 39-year-old African American male, passed away on May 6, 2016, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Freeman was shot in a parking lot on Fox Grove Circle around 2:40 a.m. and was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later. The circumstances surrounding his death led to a murder investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department.
