Amos Rashad Shaw, 26, and Kenneth Alexander Shaw, 28, both brothers, were apprehended late Tuesday following the incident. Each of the suspects faced two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Derrick McClain and Derrick Robinson. The Shaw brothers were also charged with additional offenses; Amos Shaw faced possession of cocaine charges, while Kenneth Shaw was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred around 5 a.m. on Sunday at the Southwood Apartment Complex. Authorities discovered Derrick McClain and Derrick Robinson deceased at the scene, while two other men, including Kenneth Shaw, were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Kenneth Shaw and Darrell Hinton were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries before being arrested.
The suspects were held without bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
