Quincetta Daniels, a 26-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on March 3, 2018, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was fatally shot at a residence on Stevens Street. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., and Quincetta was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Cory Jamaica Ward, a 38-year-old man, was identified as the suspect in the case. He was wanted for the murder of Quincetta Daniels and the shooting of Gwendolyn Womack. Ward eventually turned himself in to law enforcement on March 19, 2018. He was charged with first-degree murder, shooting into an occupied structure, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Ward was booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he remained without bond.
