Jonquie Antwan Hemphill, a 37-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 5, 2018, in Gastonia, North Carolina. Hemphill's death was the result of a violent altercation that escalated into a fatal shooting. The incident occurred during a backyard barbecue, where a disagreement between Hemphill and his cousin, Aaron Terrell Woods, turned deadly.
