On September 7, 2019, Alvin Perry, a 54-year-old man from Greensboro, North Carolina, was found dead on Yanceyville Street. The Greensboro Police Department identified him as the victim of a homicide. Detectives determined that Perry had suffered a gunshot wound. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, and the southbound lanes of Yanceyville Street were closed for several hours while the investigation took place.
