Maxie was a dog breeder and was known for her outgoing and funny personality, as well as her beautiful smile that could light up any room. She was a great mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother.

On September 15, 2019, deputies responded to a welfare check at her residence on Pig Tail Road in Lenoir after family members reported being unable to contact the homeowners. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of Maxie Farmer Webb and her husband, James Lee Webb, 54, inside the home. Investigators determined that both had died from gunshot wounds.
