She graduated from West Caldwell High School in 2019 and was a devoted mother to her six-month-old baby, Salem Stevenson.
On the day of her death, Shantel and her partner, 24-year-old Anthony Stevenson, were involved in a domestic disturbance at their home in Lenoir. The situation escalated, resulting in a triple shooting that left Shantel and Anthony dead, and their baby critically injured. The incident was classified as a murder-suicide, with one of the victims shooting the others before turning the gun on themselves.
